Mitch was born and raised in Washington DC in a wealthy household and the only child of Mitchell and Liv. He has his mother's good looks and compassionate nature. His relationship with his father has always been strained. Mitch graduated Magna Cum Laude St. Albans School. From there he could pick and choose from elite colleges and he chose West Point Military Academy, much to his father's dismay.

Just after graduating from West Point, a big argument with his father had Mitch packing and he left for Thailand where he, at the age of 21, started working as a mercenary for a Thahan Phran regiment. A regiment responsible for curbing human trafficking and other illegal movements across the Mekong into Thailand from northwestern Laos.

Two years later, Mitch got badly injured while on a mission in the jungle in the north. Presumed dead, no extraction team came for him, but he was saved by Buddhist monks who took him back to their temple and tended his wounds. Mitch lived with the monks for 3 years, and trained meditation and Muay Thai in return for hard physical labour. He left the Buddhist temple a Master of Muay Thai.

Mitch then settled down on the small island of Koh Mak, a little piece of paradise in the south-eastern Thailand. He lived a slow paced life on the beach, earning a living as a tour guide and a Muay Thai instructor for 5 years before he was bee'd.

Why Mitch was chosen by Gaia is unclear, probably because of his mental and physical strengths. Selected by the Dragon because of his non-traditional soldier mindset, and the non-traditional choices he made both as a young man and later as an adult.

The Secret War came as a shock to Mitch, but his ability to compartmentalize and focus has helped him with the transition and keeps him able to handle things he encounter. Things he never thought could be real until experiencing it first hand.
