Due to her lifestyle, Valentina is a very practical woman. Since she was a child learned how to take care of herself, resulting in competence in a wide array of skills; a jack of all trades - master at none. She will always admit she is no professional in any of them - she has not studied or particularly trained for extended periods of time, much is self taught (as situations would demand, since she didn't quite have anyone to rely upon).

She is fluent in Slovenian, Italian and English, understands Serbo-Croatian, speaks some Japanese, albeit poorly.

During her childhood and teens she has learned basics of living alone - taking care of the apartment, cooking (which has become something she enjoys and takes pride in), fixing up certain appliances and devices. She has dealt with stressful situations, living with minimal amounts of sleep, how to handle herself in fights and resilience to physical pain as she would often get into fights with bullies. She later also took karate lessons for some two years.

Used to living it down and dirty, tobacco, alcohol, weed, mushrooms, experimented with some other drugs but kept them on the sidelines. In terms of music, she is about rock and metal and has at a point learned to play bass guitar, played in a garage band with some friends as well as played some gigs in bars, where she was particularly popular not only for her looks but also for her rough and hoarse backup vocals.

Her time spent in the military has further strengthened her body and despite spending less time in the career as she would have wanted, she has learned a lot. Hand-to-hand combat, firearms, explosives, first aid. She still swears that her favorite rifle, the AK-47 is the best rifle, as she values reliability over anything else. She will make use of modern technological advantages, but she refuses to fully rely on anything that can easily malfunction, break or run out of power. She is used to tough things out, shunning treatment and medicine unless really necessary; she would always say "the body is designed to deal with it". Her immune system strengthened and she rarely gets sick (and when she does, she quickly overcomes illness), she shrugs off pain to high degrees and heals very well.

Bar and street fighting were also valuable lessons in her life. For one, she holds alcohol well and can function and fight while drunk. She has learned to use every advantage she can; her skills of karate and hand to hand combat, intimidation, misdirection, taunting and mocking her opposition. She doesn't fight fair. "Life's not fair. Life's dirty." She will resort to dirty tricks and low blows without a second thought. She will at times resort to sexuality for benefit, though more often for pleasure. Experienced in many kinks and sexual acts, both with men and women.

Her travels and work were source of even more knowledge: orientation in nature, camping/sleeping outdoors, she can also make a fire without matches/lighters. She's not a picky eater and there are very few foods she won't eat. During the years she has worked with a lot of people, simple people who were passionate about what they do, learning from them and listening to their stories was both entertaining and educational. Her skills range through woodcutting, carpentry, masonry, construction, farming, fishing, sewing, painting, mechanics, driving and operating various machines.

Due to all this, she has mostly worked and frequented male company and has always been one of the 'bros' in her circle.

She is a very handy individual to have around in a 'stranded' scenario and she believes that should the apocalypse happen and the world go to hell tomorrow, she would be ready to survive in it. The main downside to this is that she is quite inept at living in a modern society. She could never be a 'model citizen', which is why the Secret World is a perfect ambient for her.

The day of her seventh birthday, a drunk driver caused a severe collision, killing her mother on impact right in front of Valentina's eyes. Her father suffered some bruises and a leg injury, while Valentina herself went through major head trauma, some broken ribs, a few broken fingers and displacement of a vertebrae. She has eventually made a full physical recovery, but the traumatic loss of her mother has left the biggest impact, both on her as well as her father. Feeling guilty and devastated, her father would be coming home late, stay away from home for days and quite often travel for a week. Valentina was always left with food and money to easily get by in her father's absence, but it meant she would have to start taking care of herself already then.

She has shut herself in, shunning most social contact unless needed and had very few friends. As nightmares would regularly prevent her from getting more than a few hours of sleep, she'd resort to reading to keep her mind occupied, starting with school books and later going through her father's collection of various books. Learning entertained her and she was among the top in her class. Over the years she slowly coped with her loss and started to develop a more social life and got into her first relationship at age 14 to a boy a few years older, who eventually tired of her cautiousness and ended up forcing himself onto her, putting another dent on her sanity, making her distrustful (especially of men).

Since then she has gone through a number of phases, suffered depression, anxiety, self-harming and sense of worthlessness; all while trying her best to appear as normal as possible to those around her. Getting into sports and training her body to keep the nerves in check was not enough and she often got into fights - where she proved to be relentless and very resilient to pain, soon earning the nickname "Valkyrie" (as she was, for short, called Val). Soon after she started smoking, resorting to alcohol and drugs and eventually sex, but not relationships. When she was 18, her father quit his job and left home, leaving everything to Valentina. The apartment was too spacious for one person and not all that cheap, so she got a part time job and had a friend move in with her. Living together they have come to trust each other and become a couple, Valentina's first lesbian relationship. Valentina never continued her schooling, instead she pursued a career in the army. She showed great promise as a soldier, always pushing herself and striving to be the best, showing great physical prowess, topping marksmanship scores and high proficiency with explosives. Months later she had to take medical leave due to severe knee injury. It was during that time that her girlfriend died of sleeping pills overdose while heavily inebriated.

Broken, Valentina started to drink heavily and became aggressive, after her knee healed she regularly got into bar and street fights that she would usually initiate to sate her lust for (self) destruction. She would end up beaten often, but it didn't matter to her. Pain and pleasure seemed the same in the drunken haze that became her reality (regularly combining them in masochistic and degrading sexual kinks), until she was beaten by her closest friend and convinced that she needed help. She then admitted herself to a psychiatric hospital where she was diagnosed with depression, suicidal tendencies, delusions of guilt, manic outbursts of violence, auditory hallucinations and debilitating nightmares. Upon accepting the fact that she needed help and with the help (and drugs) she received in the hospital, she did strive to get better and was eventually released. She didn't want to go back home. She packed the necessary things and followed her father's footsteps - abandoning home and travelling around the world, taking occasional jobs wherever needed, for some cash, a meal, a roof - for years and she had started to again enjoy life. Travelling and physical work was good for her and she has come to be more at peace again. Even the nightmares stopped. She has somewhat settled down after her powers manifested. She was scared and, for once, had no idea how to handle it or who to turn to. Luckily, the Dragon has helped her. Given her powers purpose.

Valentina is a cynic and sarcastic individual. She is regularly nihilistic and fatalistic on the surface, but in spite of all that, she refuses to give in and will accept things. In truth, she is an undying optimist and never gives up hope.

She is somewhat socially awkward, especially in crowds, but when she relaxes she's very friendly and sociable. Despite being straightforward and sometimes just plain rude, she cares deeply for her friends and is in general a nice and caring individual, always willing to help. On the other hand, in a fight she is ruthless and brutal. Some would say she feels nothing as she extinguishes the lives of her enemies, while there are some who believe she actually takes pleasure in it.

Her mannerisms are very unladylike and crude. The same goes for her language. She acts and speaks very casually and tomboyish. She can be arrogant and self-centered, often considering herself superior to others.

She's laid back and easygoing, dislikes being in a rush. Likes to just stop and relax, enjoy the moment. Enjoy the simple, little things. A deep breath of fresh air. A panoramic view. The warmth of the sun on her skin. A cold beer on a hot day. Because we never know when might be our last time.

Overall, Valentina likes to have fun and whatever she's doing, she likes to make it as enjoyable as possible, be it through conversation, singing, odd methods or just random silliness. The logic she follows is that any task is accomplished faster and better when it's fun.

She's no perfectionist. She will work hard and she will do her tasks properly, but her methods are crude.

She values functionality and reliability and dislikes fragile gear and weaponry. Clothes should first and foremost be comfortable, practical and sturdy - so she generally favors military wear.

The repeated exposure to stress and trauma, as well as time spent in the wilderness, her body has been toughening up ever since she was a child. Her body is heavily self-reliant, with a strong immune system and exceptional (in human terms) regenerative abilities. This all leads to very high endurance, exceptional resilience to pain and body discipline in general. She is able to function and survive for extended periods of time in harsh conditions; minimal to no sleep, little to no food, the heat and the cold. Her senses are sharp; and she relies and all of them to take in her surroundings. Though her hearing is below average in general, she has been known to hear sounds and frequencies others cannot and has been sometimes referred to having a dog's hearing.

Brutal in combat; she doesn't fight for honor, but for survival and victory. Overall she favors combining her newfound abilities with her skills of modern weaponry.
