Before becoming a vampire, Myrkvanna Daud was born in 18th-century Norway and grew to be a gifted scientist obsessed with immortality. Research that began with good intentions of improving mankind quickly gave way to increasingly cruel sacrifices and experiments in the name of “the greater good.” Feeling limited by her fellow academics and their so-called “ethics,” as well as by the misogyny of many of her peers, she became a recluse — outfitting an abandoned building into her own private sanctum for intellectual ventures into the nature of death.

Untethered from society and its limitations, it was not long until Myrkvanna discovered the reality of magic, and eventually, the Secret World. After extending her youth through a combination of anima manipulation and necromancy, Myrkvanna discovered the existence of vampires. She made it her mission to trap and study one. The mad scientist was successful in her endeavor, consuming the creature’s blood to become one herself. While vampires are not truly immortal, Myrkvanna felt this slowed state of mortality would certainly buy her enough time to figure out a more permanent solution. In the meantime, she filled her lair with undying thralls for protection and living blood bags for sustenance. It would turn out the abandoned base Myrkvanna had called home was previously an old Illuminati safehouse. When a group of agents attempted to enter, in search of shelter and resources from a place they assumed would be secure, they immediately found more than they bargained for. The vampire's small army of ghastly vassals caught them unawares and captured them alive. After explaining who they were and pleading for their lives, the agents brokered a deal with the vampire. They would let her keep her laboratory — and not rain down the full fury of the Great Eye to exterminate her undead nest. In return, she would work for them. The vampiress saw the value in such an alliance, and so she joined them. Now, Myrkvanna serves as a “Chief Magical Examiner” for the Pyramid, a coroner adept in arcane autopsies for paranormal investigations. She can be found in the morgue or out in the field surveying crime scenes and following clues. Just... not during the daytime.

An obsessive workaholic, Myrkvanna was so consumed with her studies underground that she didn't even notice the interdimensional shift.

As an elder vampire, Myrkvanna displays quintessential traits of her demonically mutated species: a deathly pallor about her skin, sharpened fangs, and gaunt, angular features. Ritual corpse paint covers her face, circling her reddened, glowing eyes. She is usually seen wearing a black Victorian-style suit with a skull pendant. You won't catch her dead without her trademark sickle and necromantic grimoire. Myrkvanna is often accompanied by ghoulish minions and rides into battle on a zombified horse. She has been known to disappear into a mist form or a swarm of bats, whether to escape a battle going poorly, or avoid an unpleasant social situation.
