Peter Raymond Harkem (born Peter Raymond Amaruq) was born in Whitehorse, Yukon on April 5, 1985. Soon after his birth, Peter's birth parents, Phillip and Diana Amaruq, left him at an orphanage due to their financial situation. At two years old, Peter was adopted by Liam and Sophia Kennedy, and the three moved to Victoria, British Columbia.

In Peter's childhood, Peter's adoptive parents divorced due to his father's drug addiction. His mother reverted to her maiden name, Ms. Harkem, which Peter also chose to take. The two then traveled to Whitehorse, where Peter's mother tracked down Peter's biological parents. Peter chose to stay with his adoptive mother, keeping her surname, but the two families remained on good terms.

Reaching adulthood, Peter spent about a year with his biological family in Nunavut, and then moved to Vancouver and attended the University of British Columbia. Showing stellar academic performance, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts and then a Master of Arts degree in Music with a minor in Philosophy. Peter also worked as a conductor and teacher for various choirs around the city in order to support his studies. He ultimately sought to do research in the philosophy of art, but soon after he began working on his PhD, he was chosen by Gaia.

Peter was recruited into the Templars after he was chosen by Gaia. He has shown a strong interest in magic music, quickly learning how to make magic foci out of instruments and exploring what magical effects he can draw from them. Since joining the secret world, he has made some contributions to academic research in magic music, and to this day he continues his research in this field.

Peter's anima, by itself, appears to be somewhat unusual. His bee protects him from the Filth and other supernatural threats, but it lets mundane illnesses slide, and therefore Peter will suffer from diseases like the common cold. His usage of magic is extremely limited without utilizing the proper foci -- musical instruments in particular. He seems almost completely reliant on music as his way to cast magic.

Peter has brown hair, dark brown eyes, and medium to fair skin tone. He stands at 186 centimetres tall and weighs 78 kilograms.

Since he was introduced to the secret world, Peter has remarked that his "entire philosophy and world view has been blown to bits," though he still welcomes philosophical discussion and the introduction of different ideas. He is also passionate about music theory -- hence his interest in magic music -- and delights in discussing the construction of melodies and musical progressions.

While he is not necessarily extroverted, Peter has a warm and friendly attitude. He has shown to be lively and playful at times, especially around his friends. He is honest and respectful, never truly meaning any harm.

Peter is married to Marsyas Stathakis. The two became engaged in April 2019. On May 30th, 2020, they got married.
