When asked about their childhood, Serena isn't going to lie and say it was always filled with happiness and the things you'd hear about in a fairytale. Instead, they're going to respond that they hate their childhood, because it was filled with suffering, loss, and generally shitty memories.

Their mother had hated the fact they were born, and had hated their father for ruining her life. She had dumped Serena onto their father shortly after they were born, and disappeared into the unknown. Even though their father was a honest and hardworking man, he was barely able to keep himself afloat, much less take care of a kid at the same time. Which mean that food was scarce, and Serena grew up with clothes that never fit right or were appropriate for the changing seasons. They had a stunted education and social life due to having to constantly move as their father continued his search for a stable job.

But, while times were rough, Serena had high hopes for their future. They'd graduate some fancy college and get a real job, because then they'd amount to something and they could give their mother the middle finger for practically tossing them down the drain. Those hopes ended up being shredded when they had returned to their newest home to find their father dead on the floor, taken down in an attack and used for some sort of blood ritual.

Even though their introduction to the supernatural had been a harsh one, it was the event that sparked their desire for knowledge, and had started them down the path they're still following thirteen years later. They've gone from a unskilled kid shivering in the streets to a occult practitioner who dabbles in the mundane world as a tattoo artist. They've even caught the eye of something else, been given a ''gift'', and inducted into a secret society.

''ᴅʀᴀɢᴏɴ.''

By default, this is the society that Serena works for. This is my first Dragon that I've written for and I'm pretty much poking out into the void on my end to see what works and what doesn't.

''ɴᴇᴜᴛʀᴀʟ.''

While Serena might be currently aligned with the Dragon, they aren't against working and interacting with others outside of their faction. They won't willingly divulge secrets or whatever, but they will work and form connections with others without prejudice or ulterior motive. I am also not against Serena "leaving" the faction to join a neutral group or united group. (FC, RP group, etc)

''ᴏᴄᴄᴜʟᴛɪsᴍ.''

Ingame, Serena is a healer. In character, Serena initially delved into the Occult as a response to their father’s murder. As they got their hands on more books and hands on teaching from older practitioners they had sought out, their interest in it turned away from their need for revenge.

''ᴀʀᴛɪsᴛ.''

Although it is important that one must have at least some talent in drawing in order to properly apply and activate runes and sigils, Serena held natural talent in art and design. It's something they've steadily worked on over the years, across various types of media. They enjoy tattoos because of how one can express themselves through them, and it was something they committed to learning when they were given the opportunity to undergo an apprenticeship and licensing.

=• Personality•=

Serena is a reserved and laid back person. They’re polite but cautious when it comes to new interactions, and are respectful and loyal towards their friends and the people they look up to. They tend to be a bit of a lighthearted goof in relaxed settings, and are willing to be there for others as emotional or physical support when it is needed.

They like the little moments in life, animals, books, and a good cup of coffee.

They’re driven by curiosity, and while they might not understand things right away or need something to be dumbed down for them to understand, they’re always up for learning about something or hearing about others’ points of view.

Their childhood years were far from pleasant, but they still miss their father and occasionally have ‘what ifs’ about how their life would be now if he was still alive and things hadn’t happened the way they had. They stumbled across information of their mother living in New York, and have staunchly avoided her when they’ve been in the area.

They've got a habit of snagging things to either keep for later or to sell. Not stuff that would belong to like, a friend or a coworker or anything, but more like things they've looted off their now-unconscious enemies or bodies of the dead or come across during their travels.

Serena suffers from depression and anxiety. They have occasional mood swings and periods where they have trouble focusing on or committing to things. They can be irritable, and experience inappropriate anger when encountering certain situations. They can have periods of time where they lose interest in things, ranging from minutes to days, and can be emotionally distant due to dissociation. On the worse days, this means they can lose the will to do much more than lie around.

Serena, even years later, has food anxieties as a result of their childhood. Food stashing is common, and can become quite fidgety when it's hinted that they won't be able to eat when they feel hungry. It's not something that will shut them down, but it is something that make them quite irritable.

Primarily, I use they/them for pronouns with writing for this character. She/her is used occasionally.

Transmasculine is an umbrella term used to describe transgender people who were assigned female at birth but identify with masculinity to a greater extent than with feminity. It falls into the genderqueer category. Serena, specifically, identifies with several aspects of masculinity, but does not identify with the male gender enough that they wish to transition. They also identify with several feminine aspects, but don't identify strong enough with the female gender to consider themselves female.

My nickname is Birdie, I'm 25, and transmasculine.

I am currently in therapy for stress, anxiety, and a few other things. My primary issue is Avoidant Personality Disorder. It is something I have struggled with for years, and it is the main reason I have difficulty interacting with others online and in communities. I have days where I keep contact to a minimum, and skim my Discord/Twitter/Enjin and then just focus on solo questing or other forms of PVE ingame. Please do not take me not approaching you daily or repeatedly throughout a day as me not liking you or suddenly having an issue with you -- that's most definitely not the case. I am like this towards my relatives and friends IRL as well.

I am a full time caretaker for my grandparents. I tend to be online the most in the afternoons, evenings and late nights, although how much time I'll be spending AFK varies. I have my Twitter/IM with me full time due to mobile.

I have played TSW since early 2013, but I put it on the back burner about a month before the reveal of TSW: Legends. Now that Legends has released, I no longer have any interest in logging into TSW. Which means while I am always open to other forms of interactions (Twitter, Enjin, etc) all of my ingame interactions will only be possible in Legends.

I have been writing for about over a decade and a half, but my spelling and grammar are nowhere near perfect. I am pretty lax when it comes to my writing, but I do try to correct spelling mistakes and other things before I send a reply. I'm also a bit of a slow writer depending on what is going on, and I do my best to keep up with others when I am in chat or ingame. Lengthier replies through other things outside of the game can take more than a couple of minutes.

I am open to romance with this character.

I’m open to any genre, but I like variety. For example, non stop heavy emotional stuff, such as angst, eventually bogs me down and I end up needing fluffier or more comedic moments to serve as a breather.

I love character chemistry and character building. Seeing how relationships progress (platonic or otherwise) as stories are worked on or interactions happen is something I find fascinating.

I do not mind darker or disagreeable themes in writing if they’re talked about and agreed about beforehand. But I’m not always up to writing them. Please understand that for me there is always a IC and OOC divide, and me writing about something either through descriptive text or simple reference does not mean that I support or approve of it in real life.

I hate surprises - and by surprises I mean the sudden and unexpected things that have a significant impact on my character or their relationship(s) with others in a community, that I didn’t agree to. Cheating, etc. OoC communication is important to me, and I'm not going to decide to make any drastic changes to my character or their relationships with others unless I've gone and asked the people involved and would be affected by it about it.

=• Seeking •=

Long term roleplay buddies! Any faction (or neutral/no faction), any gender. I'm fine with purely RP but I adore being able to PVE with my partners. Story, character chemistry, character development, etc. A nice mix of serious and comedic interactions are my favorite.

A cabal or a group of some sorts to regularly hang out with/interact with, although I'm seeking something LGBTQIA friendly and doesn't require 24/7 RP.
