Querido:

I am making myself over in this place. Salado. Everything here tastes of salt. The sea, tears, sweat. It is the flavor of my despair.

My days and nights have begun to blur. I sleep when I can. When I'm awake, I run and I kill. I am almost always on my own but I can't shake the feeling that I'm somehow being watched. Alone and observed all at once. I can hardly stand it.

During one of my many deaths I saw such lovely white birds. They reminded me of the palomas at the zócalo. Palomitas shared at the cinema. I chased after these ghostly birds, laughing because as I ran I could almost see your sweet smile as you puzzled over doves and popcorn in a language that was not your own. It's the closest I've come to you since all this madness began.

Yours,

Mayahuel

Mayahuel Bailey is the daughter of two Templars-James Bailey and Perlita Garcia. Mayahuel’s mother was identified in the normal course of business as being descended from a goddess by the name of Tlazolteotl, a fierce and beautiful little goddess who had many talents. Tlazolteotl was also known as the Filth-Eater. The factions had been grudgingly working together for years on various projects to train the progeny of the old gods for various ends.

Maya’s young childhood was spent with in London with her father. Her mother returned to Mexico when she was still quite small and they saw each other rarely until Maya moved to the southwestern U.S. to live with her grandmother. Once Maya came of age, she returned to London and assumed she would begin her training with the Templars just as her parents had before her. She fell in love with a young guard who had recently returned from Egypt. Unfortunately, before anyone knew what they were dealing with, the young Templar had come into contact with a terrible black plague during his travels.

He was quarantined but Maya was determined to see him. She somehow managed to bypass the security measures and she broke into the infirmary, completely disregarding the danger to herself or others. She locked herself in with him and stayed through the night, whispering in a language the Templars had never heard for hours until the dawn. When the security med-teams finally got back into the room with the intention of dispatching both Mayahuel and her young guard, they were shocked to see the both of them curled together sleeping as if nothing had happened.

Whatever it was--the power of love, the will of a little demi-goddess, or a scientific anomaly--he was cured. Clean. The Templar received word shortly thereafter that it was time to honor a bargain with the Dragon before Maya was even born. She was to be given to them for "training" as something called The Ablution Project. She rarely speaks of her time there with anyone but her beloved partner Berry. It was a brutal experience, one that left her without any memory of her life before. There was much struggle and heartache before she finally found her way.

Project Ablution was deemed a failure except for a small success at an obscure site several hours from Mexico City that none of the factions thought worth the trouble to try repeating. Mayahuel left the Dragon with the uneasy but respectful understanding that she can still come and go as she pleases when in Seoul.

She presently lives in London with her beloved Berry, keeping busy with Sun & Moon, Inc. The small gallery next to the Rackham theater is where they do a tidy business in fine art and fair trade imports from different locations, offering products to large and small design companies around the globe.

If your character existed in TSW (The Secret World) before coming to SWL (Secret World Legends) -- how do you treat the transition? Are they exactly the same? Did they suffer memory loss? Are they some 'alternate reality' version of themselves?

Everyone knows someone. What groups, people, friends, and relatives does your character have ties to? Would other characters know them from a favorite hangout or a particular organization?

Are they demon-possessed? A skilled Elementalist? Want to describe their awesome powers or trademark equipment they always carry? This is the place to do it.
